Why spend your hard earned money on an expensive HD/Digital over the air antenna when you are perfectly capable of making your own. It's fairly straightforward to build and works great, even when placed in the basement ( although results may vary ).

Roll a distro from scratch, build supporting software/package management.
This was a fun summer project I worked on when off from school ( seems so long ago ). I wanted to gain a deep understanding of the Linux way; building a distribution from scratch is the long road but definitely an educational one. Additionally I wanted to gain more experience in programming software for real world scenarios ( package management, software installation, hardware configuration, etc ).
